Dominican’s Delight
At St. Dominic’s Grammar School we are very proud of our consistently high GCSE and A-Level results. Each year we attain either 100%, or near to, pass rate at both GCSE and A-Level for every student in every subject, with top grades improving all the time. Our individualised approach to our students and meticulous tracking ensures each child reaches their full potential.

Many of our students have gone to Russell group universities this summer such as York, Sheffield and Birmingham, to study subjects such as Law, Aerospace Engineering and Pharmacy.
At St. Dominic’s Grammar School we have proudly been within the top five for ALL schools in Staffordshire (independent and state) for a number of years for our EBacc results. The English Baccalaureate, a measure devised by red brick universities as the required GCSE results in subjects that enabled students to progress onto their prestigious courses at the top universities. It is the gold standard measure for GCSE’s. This year saw once again a large percentage of our students achieve the coveted Ebacc compared to state and many independent schools. Individual successes include Elizabeth Brown who obtained ten GCSE’s, seven of which were Grade 8/9.
Our 7 year trend boasts 98% pass rate for A-Level students and the vast majority achieved their first choice at University.
Despite our impressive headline figures, we believe that the true measure for any school is found in its value added data. This data measures how far a child has progressed from their starting point and is especially useful from GCSE to A-Level. Consistently each year, St. Dominic’s Grammar School exceeds normal expected targets. This evidences that whatever a child’s ability, we work incredibly hard to ensure that they reach their full potential at every level.
