St. Dominc’s Grammar School prides itself on its well-equipped ICT provision. The school has 2 recently refurbished ICT suites with new equipment and smart screens to aid teaching. There is safe and secure WiFi throughout the school which is utilised by students, staff and visitors. Super-fast broadband enables quick access to the internet, benefiting studies both in the classroom and personal prep. time. Children are taught by specialist ICT staff from Year 1 upwards to ensure that the new curriculum of computer science is fully met.
Further computers are found within the libraries and sixth form centre. Students have access to the facilities at all times.
Extended day programmes even include the use of raspberry pi computers and robots.
All students learn to program in Python and use Raspberry pi computers. All main teaching rooms are equipped with data projectors and interactive whiteboards or smart screens and teaching staff integrate ICT as an added dimension to their lesson delivery.
