Our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), Mrs Belinda James, BA, PGCE, RSA Cert spLD (Specific Learning Difficulties), has worked with children with special needs for over 15 years and frequently attends courses and seminars to ensure that she is kept up to date with latest teaching techniques.
Mrs James assesses pupils and provides one-to-one teaching in a gentle, caring and supportive manner, working closely with her team and the other teaching staff to develop appropriate learning strategies.
Our school has a team of support assistants who help pupils with a wide ability range including pupils with mild learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia or a particular learning need.
We are proud of the achievements of all our pupils and our annual value-added scores reflect the excellent work of the SENCo Department.
