Huge congratulations to the St. Dominic’s Sixth Form students who are celebrating wonderful A-Level results.
Students achieved a 100% pass rate in all subjects, with 83% achieving grades A* – C, 90% of students achieved their first choice university and 100% are going to their first or second choice.
Headteacher Peter McNabb said the school was delighted with the results which maintain our position as one of the best schools in the county – St. Dominic’s is currently ranked 25th nationally in the Sunday Times School Guide.
“Congratulations go to all our students on producing such wonderful results,” he said. “They are fully deserved after all the hard work and dedication they have put into their studies.
“Everyone has done really well, including Becky Hale who obtained A*, A and B, Joy Takura who is off to study law and Hannah Haywood who is doing physiotherapy.
“I must also pay tribute to our staff who work so hard in giving our students the best possible opportunity to gain these results and the parents whose support is integral to their children’s success.
“Our students will be doing a range of degree courses in physiotherapy, law, veterinary nursing, psychology, computer science, journalism and teaching. This illustrates the strong academic range and the preparation that we as a grammar school offer to our students.
“We wish them well in their university education and their chosen careers that follow and look forward to welcoming them back to school in the future when they can update us on what they have been doing and pass on some invaluable advice to those students who will follow them – they are going to be excellent role models.”
St. Dominic’s Grammar School teaches boys and girls aged between 2-18 and there are limited places still available for the term commencing September, although there is a waiting list in some age groups.
