St. Dominic’s will be transformed into a mystical wonderland when it welcomes guests to our Enchanted Forest Ball in November.
The evening on November 23 is for families, friends, staff and students in Year 12 and 13 and will be followed two days later by the annual Christmas Feast.
Headmaster at St. Dominic’s, Peter McNabb, said it was a very special weekend in the school’s calendar and one that everyone looked forward to each year.
“These events are always eagerly anticipated and a time of great excitement for our pupils,” he said.
“Both events will be held in a special marquee in the Sir Jack Haywood Hall.
“The hall will be transformed into a decadent mystical wonderland for the Friday evening’s Enchanted Forest Ball, starting at 7pm with a champagne reception and games. This will be followed by a four-course meal and a live auction.
“All money raised will go back into the school to improve our facilities and create a great learning environment. We will also be making a donation to a local homeless charity.
“We have a number of really exciting extras including an interactive DJ, Porsche Wolverhampton will be showcasing their quality vehicles, we will have a fantastic selfie mirror, cocktail bar some fun games with show-stopping prizes.”
The Sir Jack Haywood Hall will also be the venue for the school’s Christmas Feast two days later with two sittings planned at 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
This will be followed by a Christmas Fayre in the Peakman Hall with a variety of stalls, the chance to buy Christmas gifts and the opportunity to see Father Christmas.
Mr McNabb added: “We then round off the day with the chance to see the Brewood Christmas lights switch-on and are hoping people attending our feast and fayre will hang on for this – the lights switch-on is the sign that Christmas is only just around the corner.
“The Enchanted Forest Ball and Christmas Feast are organised by the Friends of St. Dominic’s who do so much for the school during the course of the year.
“Their efforts in arranging so many successful events never cease to amaze me and all their hard work is really appreciated.”
