Many of you will be aware of our new Admissions and Marketing Secretary here at St. Dominic’s. Neelam Malik joined us earlier this year and has already played an integral role in the continued smooth running of our school.
Neelam arrived here after a successful spell at the prestigious Priory School in Birmingham and ahead of an extremely important time of year at St. Dominic’s when we host our Year 7 and Year 9 entrance exams.
We were delighted to welcome a record number of candidates at our recent Year 7 examinations and are eagerly anticipating February 4, the date set for those sitting Year 9 entry exams.
Neelam has played a vital part in organising these exams and we thought now would be the ideal opportunity to find out a little more about her as she becomes more familiar to the St. Dominic’s family.
She said: “Coming to the end of my first term here, I can honestly say all of the pupils and staff have made me feel so welcome. It is really a family community and everyone looks out for each other.
“I’m enjoying my role of seeing parents through the admission process, from the initial tour and welcome, to entry testing, day visits and their child’s first day.
“It’s such a big decision when deciding which school is right for your child and that’s why I love the St. Dominic’s personalised approach.
“It doesn’t matter what time of the year a pupil joins or which year group they enter, St. Dominic’s makes you feel at home.
“We are pleased to announce our Year 9 entrance examination will take place on Monday, February 4 and with record numbers of pupils sitting our Year 7 entrance examination, early registration is advised.”
Headteacher, Peter McNabb, added: “We are delighted to welcome Neelam to the school and she has settled in extremely well.
“I am really pleased to report our Year 7 entry examination attracted a record number of candidates this year and are now eagerly anticipating an equally successful Year 9 sitting in February.
“The level of interest from parents shows the high regard held for our school, maintaining our position as one of the best schools in the country.”
