It’s official! St Dominic’s has once again been rated one of the top performing schools in the region – and we couldn’t be more proud.
The news was revealed in the recent release of the latest Department for Education analysis of last summer’s results across GCSE, A-Level and English Baccalaureate (Ebacc),
How does it work?
Within a 10-mile radius of St Dominic’s are 84 secondary state, academy and independent schools and we are measured under four categories in a comparison analyses of GCSEs.
Entering Ebacc – we were ranked second out of 84
Grade 5 and above in English and maths – ranked third
Attainment 8 score – ranked seventh
Ebacc average score – ranked third
We outperformed all local authority scores and the England average in every category measured. The analyses shows we also outperformed the vast majority of all other schools within the 10-mile radius, finishing in the top five in three ranked categories.
Our pupils attained a 94% success rate in achieving Grade 4 or above in the reformed English and maths GCSEs – way ahead of local authority state-funded schools, 61%, and England state-funded schools, 65%.
And at A-Level?
Our school also outperformed the majority of those schools in all categories at A-Level.
Everyone plays their part
Everyone working at St Dominic’s contributes to our ongoing success and we thank all those who put in such an incredible amount of hard work and dedication to ensure our pupils have the platform to make the most of their opportunities. This includes cleaners, drivers, governors, maintenance, administration, catering, teaching staff, and our support staff.
The continued support and faith of parents is also an important factor in our success and we must recognise our wonderful hard-working students who continue to achieve these amazing results and make us all proud to be a part of the St Dominic’s family.
